This little Sri Lankan with the nice blue uniform proved a most canny overseas signing for 2008. His game is somewhat vexing, as 2009 saw him establish himself as an opening batsmen but also a total regression in his bowling ability. In keeping with his homeland's reputation, Nails will no doubt be the subject of much controversy, primarily because his wagonwheel is consistently a set of single straight lines through the slip cordon. He flashed enough edges through the cordon to become the Drovers' top run scorer in 2009.

This little surprise package of a fast bowler earned global fame in February 2008 for triggering his own player to lose the Ice Cricket World Cup semi final whilst dressed as a chicken. However, his ‘There are only 2 things I’m any good at in this life; dating and shagging’ won him honorary membership in 2008. One to watch.
